Collection of Information

Synctek Pty Ltd may collect information in a number of ways. These may include from publicly available sources, from information you yourself provide us over the phone or via application documents, related companies, credit-reporting agencies, your representatives and of course from orders for goods and/or services you have placed with us.

Use and Disclosure

Synctek Pty Ltd may use the collected information to provide better service to you by better understanding your needs. To make you aware of new products that we believe may be of interest to you. To conduct appropriate checks for credit worthiness and to protect both you and us from fraud. Synctek Pty Ltd will only collect data that is relevant to Synctek Pty Ltd. We may also disclose information about you to our business partners for the purpose of marketing, telemarketing, market research, your authorized representatives, our professional advisors (including lawyers, accountants, auditors). Synctek Pty Ltd may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

Data Quality

Synctek Pty Ltd will take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information collected and that the collected data is and remains up-to-date.

Data Security

All reasonable steps will be taken to prevent unauthorised access, misuse, modification, or accidental loss of the collected information about you, our customers.

If it is determined by Synctek Pty Ltd that the information it holds is no longer required, we will either permanently destroy or alter the data to such an extent that it no longer identifies you.

Openness

Synctek Pty Ltd will take all reasonable steps to provide you with details about the type of information we hold and how we are using that information. Where possible Synctek Pty Ltd will also advise you how it collected the information it holds, in any case Synctek Pty Ltd generally collects information as described above.

Access and Correction

If requested, we will take reasonable steps provide details of the information it holds about you to you except to the extent that the request does not have to be honoured as per sub clause 6.1 or 6.2 of schedule 3 of the Privacy Act 1988 as amended.

If advised in writing that the information we hold is incorrect or not up to date, Synctek Pty Ltd will either correct the information it holds, or, if we disagree, note that you have advised us in writing that the information we hold is incorrect and/or not up to date.

Anonymity

Whenever it is lawful and practicable, individuals will have the option of not identifying themselves when dealing with Synctek Pty Ltd

Transborder Data Flows

Synctek Pty Ltd will not transfer personal details of its customers to any party in a foreign country unless it is required to do so by law. Exceptions include, but are not limited to, the owner of the details consenting, the implementation of a contract between Synctek Pty Ltd and our customer or pre-contractual measures taken in response to a request from the customer.

Sensitive Information

Synctek Pty Ltd will not collect or hold information about a customer that can identify the customer’s racial ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual preferences, memberships of organisations, or political beliefs except where it is relevant, unless we have your consent or are required to do so by law or are allowed/required to do so according to the Privacy Act 1988 as amended.
